This kid makes me laugh.
And getting up and excercising was totally worth this laughter.
I made the promise to myself last week that when Little B woke up before my alarm in the morning, I was going to get out of bed and go for a walk. I planned to take him with me in the jogger so that Daddy could have some time to himself. Well, that didn't happen. After looking at the forecast for the week before I went to bed last night I decide today was going to be the day or it was never going to happen.
He woke up at 5:35 this morning, I got up, got dressed, got him dressed (actually Daddy helped with that), and off we went. We, well me pushing him in the jogger, walked for a little over a half an hour. A beautuful walk along the waterfront of our little city, it was truly the perfect morning to kickstart our new routine. When we got home we were greeted with praise from both Daddy and our dog Tizzie. All the mindgames and effort I had put into getting this started was worth it. But the best part was yet to come!
As I released the harness on the stroller to get him out, he stretches out like a cat and yawns, then gives me a big smile. Our workout had clearly worn him out. He proudly climbed the stairs up the porch like he was Rocky.
We went inside to get a drink of water, I grabbed a big plastic glass from the bottom of the pantry and he grabbed himself one too. I poured myself a full glass and gave him just a little. Seconds after handing him the giant cup, he splashed himself in the face with the water and let out a satisfying "aaahhh!" This kid cracks me up.
It makes me look forward to our next morning outing!
